To the Honorable the General Assembly of the Territory of Oregon in Session.
The undersigned Citizens of Lewis County in the Territory of Oregon would most respectively pray you honorable boddy to Organize a County out of a portion of Lewis County including Budds Inlet on Puget Soundaccording to the boundaries as proposed and agreed upon in Convention at the Cowlitz on the 29 of August AD. 1851. And would also pray your honorable boddy to establish the seat of Justice of said County at Olympia.
We would also most earnestly remonstrate against any petition or petitions that may be presented to your boddy praying for any portion of said boundaries being changed. And we in duty bound will ever pray.

The writer of this is at present discharging the duties. Probate Judge in Lewis County if appointed -- Sydney S. Ford would make a good Probate Judge and I think he would accept the appointment -- James McAlister would also accept the appointment of Probate Judge
